Rahul Jain is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. In his previous Avataar, he was a postdoctoral member of the research staff at the Mathematical Sciences Division of the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center, Yorktown Heights, NY from September 2006 to July 2008. He received his Ph.D. in EECS in December 2004, and an M.A. in Statistics in May 2002, both from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received an M.S. in ECE from Rice University in 1999 where he was a recipient of the Texas Instruments Fellowship. He completed his undergraduate work with a B.Tech in EE from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1997, where he won the TCS Best B.Tech Project Award. He is a member of the Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) honor society and a recipient of an IBM Invention Achievement Award.
He is a contributing member of many
professional societies including ACM, IEEE Communications, Control Systems and
Information Theory Societies, American Mathematical Society (AMS), Institute for
Mathematical Statistics (IMS), Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics
(SIAM) and Institute for Operations Research and Management Science
(INFORMS).
He has diverse research interests with focus on Game Theory and Economics for Networks, and Stochastic Control and Learning.
